A New Issue (No. 47) of ACCD’s Childhood and Development Periodical

ACCD launches the 47th Issue of its arbitrated and scientific Periodical entitled “Childhood & Development”
The Issue Profile tackles the topic of “Children and the Internet World”

Prof. Hassan Al-Bilawi, Secretary General of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) and Editor-in-Chief of the Childhood and Development Periodical (CDP), stated that ACCD launched the 47th Issue of the CDP. The CDP is an arbitrated academic and scientific Periodical, whose goal is to disseminate enlightened scientific thought that addresses childhood issues in the Arab world, through serious academic researches carried out by senior researchers, experts and professors from all over the Arab world. The CDP represents an important achievement of ACCD, as it provides a scientific platform through which ACCD’s specialists, scholars and experts working in the field of childhood and development in the Arab countries can exchange knowledge. The CDP adopts ACCD’s policy of advocating and supporting children’s rights to development, protection, participation and inclusion, as well as enriching Arab scientific knowledge in childhood development and child rights.
 
The Issue Profile tackles the topic of “Children and the Internet World” and includes two papers: “Internet Addiction and its Negative Effects on Children” written by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud Khattab, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, and “Children’s Culture through Social Media and its Relationship to Sustainable Development in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030” written by Dr. Amr Mohamed Abdullah Nahla, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies of Childhood at Ain Shams University.
 
The following studies and researches are published in this Issue: “Adolescents’ Exposure to the Contents Presented in Science Fiction Series (Arab and Foreign) and its Relationship to their Attitudes towards the Future” written by Ms. Yasmine Gamal Shafiq Ahmed, a Researcher; a psychological exploratory study entitled “Role Models and Ideals for Elementary School Students” written by Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghanem, Professor of Psychology at Helwan University; and a study entitled “Spiritual Intelligence as an Input for Predicting Psychological Well-being among Hearing-impaired Children” conducted by a research team from the Faculty of Specific Education at Ain Shams University, namely: Dr. Nadia Al-Sayed Al-Husseini, Professor of Educational Psychology, and Dr. Amina Muhammad Ali Al-Abyad, Assistant Professor of Fundamentals of Education and Ms. Doaa Saber Darwish Ali Ashour, Assistant Professor of Special Education. This is in addition to a review of a study entitled: “A Program to Develop Speaking Skills Using Virtual Reality for Children with Linguistic Learning Difficulties” written by Mahmoud Mohamed Hassan Mohamed Younis, a Professor at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Cairo University.
 
It is worth mentioning that the CDP is accredited by the Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF), and publishes studies, researches, articles, experiences, book reviews, academic theses, reports of conferences, seminars and panel discussions, in addition to translations in various fields of childhood. CDP is supervised by consulting, scientific and editorial boards.
 
CDP has announced the topics of the profiles of the upcoming Issues as follows: media education for children, children’s mental health, quality of life and chronic diseases among Arab children.
