A new Issue of Childhood and Development Periodical (No. 46) tackles the issue of “Climate Change and Children’s Rights”

Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi, Secretary General of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) and Editor-in-Chief of the Childhood and Development Periodical (CDP) said: “ACCD has published the 46th Issue of its arbitrated scientific periodical entitled CDP, which contained a number of studies, articles, reviews and its profile tackles the topic of Climate Change and children’s rights. The profile of this Issue is a continuation of ACCD’s efforts in addressing the topic of climate change, which has become the greatest threat to the survival of the human species and a child rights crisis, as it represents a direct and indirect threat to more than a billion children around the world”. Dr. Al-Bilawi has stressed the importance of collaborative action to preserve planet Earth fit and sustainable for current and future generations.
 
The profile of this Issue on “Climate Change and Children’s Rights” has included two papers: “The catastrophic effects of climate changes on children’s rights and their future” written by Prof. Gamal Shafiq Ahmed, Professor of Clinical Psychology, the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood at Ain Shams University and the Secretary of Childhood Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities (Egypt); and an analytical paper submitted by the Egyptian Researcher Ibrahim Shaban entitled “Combating child labor and immediate elimination of the worst forms of child labor in light of climate change”.

The studies and articles included in this Issue are the following: “The quality of kindergarten teachers’ practices: a proposed model” written by Prof. Nahla Mahmoud Gahwaji, Dean of the College of Human Sciences and Design at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia and Hala Khaled Al-Harbi, Researcher at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia; “ The negative effects of social media on children and families in the Arab society” written by Prof. Medhat Mohamed Mahmoud Abu Al-Nasr, former Head of Fields Department at the Faculty of Social Work, Helwan University; “Pica disorder in children, its diagnosis and treatment methods” written by Prof. Hoda Gamal Mohamed, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood at Ain Shams University; “Factors of children’s feeling of happiness” written by Prof. Randa Mustafa El-Deeb, Professor of the Fundamentals of Child Education at the Faculty of Education, Tanta University; and “Children’s poetry in the Arab Gulf Region” written  by the Researcher El-Sayed Negm. This is in addition to a review, prepared by the Writer Ali Hamid, of the following book “Critical Ethnography in School Sociology”.

It is worth mentioning that the CDP is accredited by the Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF), and publishes studies, researches, articles, experiences, book reviews, academic theses, reports of conferences, seminars and panel discussions, in addition to translations in various fields of childhood. CDP is supervised by a consulting, scientific and editorial boards.
 
CDP has announced the topics of the profiles of the upcoming Issues as follows: media education for children, children’s mental health, quality of life and chronic diseases among Arab children.
