Within the framework of the 55th Session of the Cairo International Book Fair, the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD), in cooperation with the Arab Network for Early Childhood (ANECD) and the Egyptian National Center for Child Culture (ENCCC) organized a Seminar entitled “Children’s Literature in Early Childhood” on February 1, 2024.

The Seminar focused on the most important challenges facing children’s literature in light of the massive technological revolution and how to confront it, amid questions from children and their families about the limits of their exposure to digital devices. The importance of empowering children with this technological revolution was emphasized in a way that ensures building a global citizen who maintains his privacy and Arab cultural identity, as well as to be able to enter the knowledge society and the fourth industrial revolution and beyond.

The Seminar concluded with several recommendations, the most prominent of which is calling on institutions concerned with children to pay attention to the literature of early childhood, with a mixture of digital and paper contents in its presentation, with the necessity of keeping pace with the innovations and requirements of the era of the fourth industrial Revolution and beyond.
