ACCD and ENCCC are implementing a training aiming at the rehabilitation and inclusion of children in safe places through “Education for Hope” Model


 
In the context of working towards the rehabilitation and empowerment of children in safe places through “Education for Hope” Model and within the “Ma’ak” (Together) Initiative, a Training Workshop entitled “Facilitation Skills” has been launched this morning, Sunday, July 16, 2023. This Workshop is organized by the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) and the Egyptian National Center for Child Culture (ENCCC) affiliated to the Supreme Council of Culture (SCC) at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, and funded by the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND).

Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi: “Education for Hope” Model aims to build the child’s self, who is our future

At the opening session of the Training Workshop, Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi, the Secretary General of ACCD, welcomed this partnership with the ENCCC within the framework of the Joint Cooperation Protocol with the SCC. Dr. Al-Bilawi said: “This partnership is targeting the children themselves as they are our future and Egypt’s future, through applying ACCD’s Model of Education for Hope that is based on intellectual goals, as well as creating enabling environments that support the upbringing of Arab children”.

Dr. Al-Bilawi also added: “The Project of the Rehabilitation and Inclusion of Children, through the Model of Education for Hope, is one of ACCD’s strategic projects implemented under the patronage of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of ACCD, and in continuation of the successes achieved by this Model in rehabilitating and providing inclusion for children in difficult circumstances in Egypt. This was the impetus for implementing this experience in cooperation with the ENCCC for the sake of those children who live in safe places after moving from slum areas”.

Mr. Mohamed Nassef: We aspire for the “Ma’ak” (Together) Initiative to include all the children of Egypt

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Hafez Nassef, Head of ENCCC said: “Ma’ak (Together) Initiative is implemented under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Egyptian Minister of Culture, and the presidency of Dr. Hisham Azmy, the Secretary General of the SCC, to embody a dream and ambition to work with children who live in alternative housing (safe places) after moving from slum areas, through conducting a number of artistic and cultural activities that can help build this child’s self and enhance his/her positive values”.

Mr. Nassef thanked ACCD for cooperating in implementing this Initiative, through organizing a series of training workshops and activities directed to children, and he expressed his hopes of expanding include all of Egypt’s children in a way that contributes to building the character of the Egyptian child and empowering him/her for the future.

Mr. Kamal Al-Faki, Acting Director of ACCD’s Project Department and the supervisor of this Training Workshop, presented a brief on the establishment of ACCD and its most prominent projects, focusing on the “Education for Hope” Model that will be applied during this Workshop. It aims to rehabilitate and include children in a human decent life, through implementing a package of programs that depend on gaining confidence, education for hope, self-discovery and developing life skills that qualify for social inclusion.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Training Workshop is held on July 16 to 18, 2023 at the headquarters of ACCD, with the participation of more than 25 specialists and experts in the fields of child culture from the ENCCC’s staff.  This Workshop is considered to be the first of a series of workshops that will be organized by ACCD and ENCCC within the framework of “Ma’ak” (Together) Initiative. The Workshop focuses on the skills and role of the facilitator in implementing the programs of “Education for Hope” Model, and enabling participants to use arts, culture, sports, self-development skills and dialogue to enrich the learning process and provide the child with values and skills.
