The Regional Forum for Early Childhood concludes with a call for more coordination and partnerships for early childhood development and care


The Regional Forum for Early Childhood, held in partnership between the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) and the Arab Network for Early Childhood (ANECD) under the slogan “Caring for Young Children in a Turbulent World: Development Strategies in Arab Countries”, has concluded its activities today: September 9, 2023, with a number of recommendations. The recommendations of the Forum focused on drafting joint guidelines for the framework of Strategies and researches in the field of early childhood and creating an interactive Arab platform that provides data, research, studies and expertise in the field and contributes to conducting training, as well as organizing conferences, exchanging experiences and consolidating partnerships for early childhood development.

The attending members of ANECD, including ACCD that is a Founding Member, agreed to develop an action plan based on activating the role of ANECD in the next stage, throughout preparing joint programs and projects and continuing to establish national networks in order to achieve the ANECD’s goals towards preserving children’s rights and making them happy.

The Regional Forum for Early Childhood continued its sessions for the second day, and addressed a number of issues related to the challenges facing researches in the field of early childhood, and the mechanisms for establishing national networks for early childhood, as well as the strategic directions of ANECD and the next steps.
 
It is noteworthy that the Forum participants observed a minute of silence for the victims of the Moroccan earthquake, expressing their deep regret and sincere condolences to the people of the Kingdom of Morocco for the victims of the earthquake that occurred yesterday evening, Friday, September 8, and resulted in a large number of victims and injuries.

On the other hand, ACCD was honored by the Sultan Qaboos University (the Sultanate of Oman), where the honor was received by Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi, the Secretary General of ACCD.

The Regional Forum for Early Childhood began its activities yesterday, September 8, 2023, in Cairo, with the participation of more than 80 experts from 12 Arab countries, with the aim of identifying strategic directions to support and enhance the development, care, protection and nurturing of early childhood. This is achieved through knowledge production, networking, participation and advocacy with the aim of influencing the national development policies in these fields, and in line with the sustainable development goals in the Arab countries.
