Supporting Capacity Building of Early Childhood Institutions in the Arab Countries to Implement ACCD’s Upbringing Model “Education for Hope”
In partnership with the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) is working on implementing this Program in 4 Arab countries: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Oman.
The ACCD’s philosophy in developing early childhood is based on an integrated approach that includes developing school readiness, critical and creative thinking and life skills of children in the kindergarten stage, in accordance with the requirements of the variables of the scientific and technological revolution and the requirements of building a knowledge society. This is achieved through developing a new model that can be circulated and be the basis for the process of developing children in the early childhood stage, as well as utilizing the model in raising the efficiency and improving the quality of the educational process in kindergartens in the Arab countries.
In its programs of early childhood development, ACCD adopts a new concept based on establishing what is known as the “Professional Development Preschool” (PDPS), which is a kindergarten that is rehabilitated to provide a continuous professional development service for itself and for a group of related kindergartens within the same geographical scope (Cluster of Schools), in order to provide children with basic skills and knowledge, thinking skills and developing their creativity in light of the requirements of the twenty-first century.
ACCD is working on developing training manuals to build the capabilities of national cadres and implement strategic plans for early childhood development, by disseminating AGFUND’s pioneering experience in the field of early childhood development in light of the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
